Round Structure

• Process: recruiter call → 2 technical rounds → hiring manager behavioral.
• The HM round was considered the most important: "he said in his opinion the hm is the most important." It is behavioral, and reportedly with the HM of the actual team you'd join — "basically if the hm doesnt fw you its gg."

Technical Rounds

• Difficulty: "easier side of mediums."
• Language: the candidate did his interviews in Python — C++ was not required, despite the common assumption that the process is "extremely cpp heavy."

Difficulty Context

• Independent comment from another community member: "waymo not too hard, its like spacex. ml is harder" — i.e., the general SWE loop is comparable to SpaceX's, while ML roles are harder.
